Willie Minst

William Minst was born February 14, 1966 in Chicago, IL to parents, William Cloyd and Ethel Harris. 

William, affectionately known as Billy, accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He joined Bethel A.M.E. Church. William grew up on the southside of Chicago and was educated in the Chicago Public School System. For elementary studies, he attended D.S. Wentworth, followed by Paul Robeson High School. William loved working on things, whatever he looked at, he could fix. If not, it was fixed after he got through cussing it out (LOL). 

William worked for Max Chicago for fifteen years. He then went on to LSSI, where he also worked for fifteen years as a maintenance supervisor. He always took his son to work with him, teaching him and showing him responsibility. 

On Sunday, August 16, 2026, he was lovingly welcomed home by God. 

William is preceded in death by: His parents, William Cloyd and Ethel Harris; and one brother-in-law, Willie “Cool”. 

He leaves to cherish his memories: His wife, Kimyada; four children, Shanna, Christiana, William and Willow; four sisters, Antoinette, Angela, Alfredus and Alecia; three grandchildren, Vershaun, Miracle and Rainy Rose; sister-in-law, Tameka (Jon); brother-in-law, Eddie; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
