Lori Ann Seals-Blue

Dec 3, 1969 — Aug 18, 2026

Lori Ann Seals-Blue was born to the union of the late George and Bobbie Jean Seals on December 3, 1969, in Chicago, IL. She was the youngest of five children. Lori accepted Christ at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Napoleon Wordlaw Jr.

Lori received her education in the Chicago Public School System. She attended William E. Gladstone Elementary School and Lindblom Technical High School. After graduating high school, she enlisted in the United States Army Reserve. She worked for the United States Post Office from 1994 until she retired due to illness in 2023.

Lori loved children! She was always on call to babysit for someone. In May of 1990, Lori gave birth to her first child, Brittani Monique, who at the age of two, preceded her in death. Lori loved being a mother and when the opportunity presented itself again, she took on the responsibility of being a mother to a six-month-old baby boy, Travonte.

Lori was united in holy matrimony to Otis Carl Blue Jr. on February 14, 1999. To this union came a bonus daughter, Kenya Muhammad Blue and the birth of two other children, Tea’ Chanel Blue and Otis Carl Blue III. Kenya and Tea’ preceded her in death.

Lori loved all of her family, her sister and brothers, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, but she had a special relationship with her great nephew Kenari Seals. His steady presence, care, and companionship brought her comfort throughout her illness. Lori was called home to be with the lord on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

Lori leaves to cherish her memories: her partner, Serafin Mendoza; two sons, Otis Carl Blue III and Travonte Hampton; one Goddaughter, Kayla Bennett; four siblings, Robin Seals, Cordell (Eucita) Seals, George Seals, and Jeffery (Elma) Seals; seven grandchildren, Raiya, Randy, Riley, Terrell Jr., Travonte Jr. Zuri and Tramari; her aunt, Leola Woods; twelve nieces and nephews, Kimberly (Darrell) Spencer, Lakema Seals, Tiffany Hampton, Tangela Hampton, Tiara Hampton, Michelle (Alphonzo) Seals-Woods, Mitchell Seals, Jazmine Seals, Jamie Seals, Chance Seals, Kayden Seals, and Jada Seals; twenty-five great nieces and nephews and two great-great-niece and nephew; mother-in-law, Juanita Blue; and a host of cousins and friends.

To Lori’s special friends, the family would like to thank everyone who came to visit or called, you all are greatly appreciated: Felecia Dunklin, Jacqueline Leonard, Angela Osborn, Anitra Webb, Lea Gonzalez, Althea Wilson, The Mendoza Family, Eileen Pouncy and Antionette Harris, Eucita Seals, Dr. Alfreeda Gogins-Shackelford, The Seals and Blue Family.
