Charles A. Lewis

Charles was born to Alfred and Rosemary in Lula, Mississippi on July 27, 1960. His family moved to Chicago when he was just six years old.

He attended Dvorak Elementary School then Farragut High School. He was baptized as a child and always spoke of his love of the Lord. He enlisted in the US Army in 1979. In 1982, he became father to Phillip then Shamise through his union with Sharon Johnson. Charles was always the life of the party! He loved to dance, sing and have fun. He sustained employment on Madison and Pulaski since the 90’s where he played stylists to many residents of the west side of Chicago.

On October 18, 2026, Charles went to meet his parents and sister, Ruby, in heaven. He joins his parents Alfred and Rosemary Turner, his sister, Ruby Turner and his aunt, Bessie Lewis among many other family members.

He leaves to carry his legacy: His children, Phillip (Sabrina) Lewis, Shamise Lewis, Marquez Tate and Keyshona; and his grandchildren, Shalise, Camren, Jaylen, Ja’Kya and Alicia. He leaves cherished memories: his siblings, Carrie (Alvin Wardlow) Wardlow, Melvin Lewis, Effie Whaley, Alfred aka June Lewis, Rickey Lewis, Clarence Lewis, and Earl Lewis. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends to tell stories of how great he has always been
