Booker T. Franklin Jr

Booker T. Franklin Jr., was born on November 19, 1936, in Benevolence, Georgia to the late Booker T. Franklin Sr. and Mary Franklin. 

Booker T. Franklin Jr., who peacefully departed this life on July 25, 2026 at the age of 89, accepted Christ at an early age and carried his faith with him throughout his life. 

Although Booker T. Franklin Jr. did not have the opportunity to pursue a higher education, he never allowed that to define or limit his future. Through hard work, determination, wisdom and an unwavering commitment to providing for his family, he built a life that reflected true success; from his years in the construction industry to becoming the proud owner of Starlite Lounge, which he operated for many years. 

Booker found great joy in the outdoors, especially while fishing, hunting and running his beloved Beagle dogs. Rabbit hunting with his Beagles was more than a pastime; it was a lifelong passion. 

Booker is preceded in death by: His beloved wife, Irene Franklin; his son, Bennie Franklin and daughter-in-law, Camille Franklin; three sisters, Mary Ann Bender, Elizabeth Mitchell and Denise Cooper; his brother, Allen Calloway; his brother-in-law, Charles Fairman; and his beloved grandson, Jerel Love. 

Booker leaves behind a legacy of love to be cherished by: His daughter, Brenda Franklin; sister, Judy Fairman; step-brother, Timothy Franklin; four grandchildren, Veronica Franklin-Hunter (Tyrone), Tyesha Franklin, Jeremy Love and Reggie Franklin; seven great-grandchildren, Tyrone Hunter, Destiny Reed, TyJuan Hunter, Jerel Love, Jharelle Love, Tyrese Usry and London Hunter; as well as a host of loving relatives and dear friends.
