Barbara Ann Presley was born on February 17, 1955, in Alabama to the late Ossie Mae Presley and the late Van D. Presley. As a young girl, she relocated with her family to Chicago, Illinois, where she was raised. She attended Willa Cather Elementary School and John Marshall High School. Later on she went on to graduate with her Associate’s in business from Trainco Business School in Chicago.
Barbara was a woman who loved her family and cherished the time she spent with those closest to her. She enjoyed celebrating her birthday, cooking breakfast, sharing laughter with loved ones, family gatherings at her house, favorite cold beer, solo card games that she loved teaching her grandchildren how to play and simply just appreciating life’s simple pleasures. Her warm spirit and unforgettable personality will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Barbara is preceded in death by: Her parents, Ossie Mae Presley and Van D. Presley; her son, Marcus “Mackey” Presley; her siblings, Timothy Presley, Jessie Presley, Brenda Presley, Jackie Presley, Jamie Presley and Rickey Presley; and her nephews, Timothy “TimTim” Presley and Johnell Presley.
Although Barbara never found lifelong romantic love in this lifetime, she found her greatest joy and purpose in her family, each of whom carries a piece of her love, strength, and legacy. Her family was the true love story of her life, and through them, her memory will continue for generations.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Her beloved children, Lakesha Parker (James), Latasha Presley, Timika Presley (Ladon Massey), Tanyana Presley, Stephanie Presley, Maurice Presley (Arielle) and Tiffany Presley (Martell); her Godson, Kafele Parker; her cherished grandchildren, James, Jermall, Ramona, Amia, Kendra, Jazmine, Justin, Jacoby, Laila, Dawaun, Dayon, Dakayla, Dakari, Senica, TaShawn, Antonyous, Shayla, Jayden, Miesha, Jada, Kenneth Marcus, Martell, Martay, Mason and Dajah Stewart; and her treasured eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving siblings; Joanna Presley, Janice Presley, Sheila Presley (Leon), Beverly Hubbard of Alabama, Kathy Presley, and Gregory Presley, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends, all of whom will forever treasure her memory.
Although Barbara’s battle with Huntington’s disease presented many challenges, her strength and resilience remained evident throughout her journey. Her family finds comfort in knowing that her suffering has ended and that she now rests peacefully.
Barbara’s life was a testament to love, family, and perseverance. While her physical presence will be deeply missed, her love, laughter, and the memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Rest peacefully, February 17 forever.
